The actual room rate includes accommodation without meals and the use of the wellness area: outdoor and indoor pools (swimming pool, wellness pool with adventure elements, whirlpool, children's pools), sauna island (infra sauna, Finnish sauna, soft sauna, steam room), and gym.

Our package offers are available with pre-defined service content that always includes half board. The rate of half-board varies from time to time and is specified individually (in the description of the package content) for each package offer.

The prices include VAT, but the tourist tax must be paid separately on the spot:

  • its rate is HUF 490 /person/night over 18 years of age. 

If you would like to use our hotel voucher, please refer to the voucher number when booking. Reservation can only be made in writing (we cannot accept bookings by phone), and the reservation is only valid if the hotel sent a confirmation about it. We are not able to accept the voucher if its use is not pre-agreed. 

At our hotel, in addition to cash payment, it is possible to settle the hotel bill by credit card. Please contact our colleagues for information on other payment options.

Please CONTACT our sales colleagues in writing IN CASE OF TRANSFERRING advance payment. If you fail to do so, we cannot guarantee the identification and acceptance of the transferred amount.
During holiday periods, the hotel reserves the right to ask for an advance payment.
In case of prepayment, please indicate the method of payment clearly when booking.

Check-in, checkout:

Our rooms are available to our guests from 15.00 on the day of arrival, and until 11.00 on the day of departure. For a surcharge, our hotel provides an opportunity for early check-in and late checkout, depending on availability. Please contact our hotel in connection with the extension before your arrival, pre-registration is not possible. We kindly inform our guests that the kitchen of our hotel is open until 21.00 every day - if you are likely to arrive later, please inform our staff. 

In each case, the service provider must be informed in writing.  In the case of online booking, if you booked directly on the website of the hotel, cancel your stay by replying to the confirmation you received. If you booked through one of our online partners (booking.com, szallas.hu, szallasvadasz.hu, utazzitthon.hu), cancel your booking on the booking interface of the actual site. 

The cancellation policy applies to individual bookings; in the case of groups, events and conferences the terms and conditions of the contract apply.

Standard terms of cancellation and advance payment:

  • You can cancel your reservation one day before arrival
  • No advance payment is required to confirm your booking
  • Valid for all rest periods from 16 March to 20 May (Exception: special weekends, Easter, Pentecost, 1 May)

Services ordered can be cancelled up to 7 days before arrival without having to pay penalty. In case of cancellation within 7 days before arrival, the customer is obliged to pay 50% of the total amount confirmed. 

In case of cancellation on the day of arrival, or in case of late arrival or early departure within the confirmed period of stay, the guest is obliged to pay 100% of the confirmed amount for the entire period booked. 

No advance payment is required.

  • Terms of cancellation and advance payment in the summer season:

During the high season, reservations can be cancelled up to 14 days prior to arrival without having to pay penalty. In case of cancellation within 14 days prior to arrival, the customer is required to pay 50% of the total amount confirmed. 

In case of cancellation on the day of arrival, or in case of late arrival or early departure within the confirmed period of stay, the guest is obliged to pay 100% of the confirmed amount for the entire period booked.

No advance payment is required.

  • Terms of cancellation and advance payment in the festive season and during holidays:

In case of booking a holiday package, we offer the opportunity to change or cancel the reservation up to 14 days prior to the arrival without having to pay a penalty. In the event of cancellation within 14 days prior to arrival, the guest is required to pay 100% of the amount confirmed for the entire period of reservation. In case of cancellation within 14 days, the amount of the advance payment will not be refunded and the amount cannot be used. 

Advance payment: An advance payment is required to confirm your booking. Within 5 working days following the booking, 50% of the total amount has to be paid in advance. In case of cancellation within the no-penalty period, the amount paid in advance will not be refunded but, within 6 months, it can be used for covering other accommodation services, which are subject to availability. 

When transferring money, please indicate the guest's name and the reference number of the booking in the message field. The hotel will issue a pro forma invoice of the advance payment, which can be collected at the reception upon arrival. 

  • Non-refundable rate: 

The booking cannot be cancelled or modified free of charge. In case of cancellation or no-show, 100% of the total price will be charged as a penalty payment.

Advance payment: An advance payment is required to confirm the booking. 100% of the total amount is payable within 1 day after the booking. In case of cancellation, the advance payment will not be refunded and the amount cannot be used later. In case of early departure or cancellation on the spot, 100% of the amount confirmed for the entire reserved period is payable.

When transferring any money, please indicate the guest's name and the booking reference number in the message field. The hotel will issue a pro forma invoice of the advance payment, which can be collected at the reception upon arrival.  

Medieval feast: If you wish to change your pre-ordered Medieval Feast to half board (due to food intolerance or any other illnesses), you have to inform us until 2.00 pm on the day of the programme; in case of changes made after 2.00 pm we charge HUF 4,000 for adults and HUF 2,500 for children as a cancellation fee.

    Sümeg can be found in County Veszprém, in the southwestern corner of the Bakony Hills, in the valley connecting the Keszthely Hills with the Little Plain and the Tapolca Basin, 20 km from Lake Balaton, and approximately 180 km from Budapest. The town is located along Main Road 84, which connects Sopron with Lake Balaton.

We offer our guests free parking facilities in the parking lot situated in front of the hotel, and upon request, our colleagues are ready to provide information on the conditions of the use of the underground car park.

In case of one-bed reservation (1 paying person in the room) the 70 percent of the double price is charged.

  • Food supply and other equipment are not provided for pets, the guest must take care of it 
  • Pets are allowed only if their behaviour does not interfere with other guests 
  • The use of a leash on the hotel’s premises is mandatory during walking 
  • In the hotel’s inner communal areas (restaurant, drinkbar, spa, sauna world, children’s playroom etc.) pets are not allowed for publich health reasons 
  • In the hotel’s inner garden walking of pet is not allowed
  • The owner of the pet must clean the excrement immediately, otherwise, a surcharge will be charged 
  • The owner of the pet is financially liable for damage caused by pets 

Rooms are equipped with individually treatable air-conditioning, you can adjust the temperature grade according to your taste with the Control Panel on the wall. The climate control system will only work if power is on and doors/windows are closed. The public areas of the hotel are air conditioned.

There is a room for disabled guests on the first floor of our Hotel, which is accessible with wheelchair and equipped with shower and handrails, moreover it also has a special toilet. The service and community spaces of the House are available with self-propelled wheelchair or assistance, accessibility is facilitated by elevators and accessible routes.

We prepare the bathrobes in the shelf closet of the rooms for the comfortable use of the wellness area and pools. In case a different size is needed, contact our reception. Used bathrobes can be replaced for a fee of 1 000 HUF/bathrobe/replacement, which amount will be charged to the room. When checking out, please leave the bathrobes in the room.

All bed linen are changed every 3 nights, but daily change is possible on request - please contact our reception.

The farm has been functioned as a background economy of Hotel Captain Wellness since 2005, which is located 2 km from the Castle of Sümeg. Our guests are happy to consume the products from the farm (peasant sausages, spicy and delicacy salami, smoked ham, deer sausages, greaves), because in addition to the physical and spiritual refreshment, the person who comes to us desires gastronomic experiences. Buy as a gift for your loved ones from the premium products offered at breakfast, this gives you the opportunity to sneak a mouthful of Sümeg into your own home.
If you are looking for traditional Hungarian flavours, stop at Castle Inn right next to the Hotel, where you can taste a variety of local dishes and Hungarian wine, enjoying culinary pleasures in the shadow of walnut trees in the summer and in the warmth of a brick stove in the winter. Our well-equipped, variably sized interconnecting conference halls offer exclusive location for conferences, training events, workshops and private events. Sümeg Historic Tournaments, well-known in Hungary and throughout Europe, take place at the Historical Event Hall in the Medieval Theme Park. The guests of our Hotel can visit as a gift from the Castle’s Captain, they can take part on the country’s finest equestrian program without any cost. The Stable at the Kisfaludy Garden, as well as programme- and race-horses of the Castle's Captain can be visited free of charge daily.

Key-cards are required for the guest room door, for power supply, and for the underground garage (if applicable) from check-in until11:00 on the day of check-out. The lounge is located on the ground floor of the Hotel, is open from 11:00 to 23:00 daily, offering a variety of sandwiches, cakes, coffee, tea, wine, and cocktail specialities. At the weekends it also offers our guests the festive atmosphere of music and dance evenings.

Our special service, which is closely related to the programme of the Historic Tournaments, is the Medieval Feast at the Grand Knight's Hall of the Castle's Captain (at times held at the Castle Inn). Feast menu:

On the ground floor of our Hotel, next to our Wellness & Beauty parlour there is a playroom for children, called Várovi (Castle Care). Children can pretend here to be real Princesses or Knights with the help of the gorgeous scenery. Buffet breakfast and dinner is offered to our guests at the Museum Restaurant, while at our King Saint László Restaurant a'la carte menu is available for our guests, from7:00 to 22:00 daily. Traditional and international dishes, a variety of reform and gourmet dishes, ancient traditional and contemporary healthy gourmet cuisine can be enjoyed in medieval scenery, as well as specialities of international cuisine are available, and we also offer a variety of quality Hungarian and international drinks.
If you wish to use room service for breakfast, please notify reception no later than 20:00 the evening before by leaving your breakfast card. The service is available for a fee. It is possible to dine in the hotel room during the day - orders can be made from the Room Service Menu dialling 505. In compliance with the amendment of Act XLII of 1999 on the protection of non-smokers, effective from 1 April 2012, smoking in enclosed spaces is strictly prohibited. Please restrict from smoking in hotel rooms as well as on the adjoining terraces. Designated smoking areas are outside, 5 metres from the entrance of the Hotel and at the restaurant terrace.

Please note that all hotel rooms are equipped with smoke detectors, which signal the reception in case smoke is detected. If the alarm goes off due to tobacco smoke, an extra 10,000 HUF cost is charged to that room.

We can provide children’s menu, lactose-free-, gluten-free-, vegetarian and dietetic food for your request in the course of half board and a’la carte meals, at the Museum Restaurant, at Knight’s Palace of St. Laszlo, and the Castle Inn.

If required, our reception provides assistance in organizing transfer to Sümeg Castle, to the city of Sümeg, or even to the countryside. The service is available for a fee.

The pool complex with a total water surface of 600m2 offers an experience pool, a children's pool and a swimming pool ensuring a mental refreshing experience, recharging and relaxation to our guests.
